OUR FEES and PRICES
Family
- Trevor Owen:
- Hourly rate is $475/hour + HST + Disbursements. $7,000.00 retainer for starting court cases.
- Drafting agreements (Separation, Cohabitation, Prenup, etc.) costs $2,500.00 if it takes four hours or less. If it takes more than four (4) hours, then the hourly rate + HST + Disbursements applies.
- Independent Legal Advice on Separation Agreements: Minimum $850.00 + HST; if longer than one hour, then the hourly rate + HST + Disbursements apply.
- For Uncontested Divorces within Simcoe County, it costs $1,600.00 (HST and Disbursements Included)
- NOTE: Trevor does not accept cases against the Children’s Aid Society (CAS)
- Evgeny Parmut (Also for Small Claims and Corporate Drafting)
- Hourly rate is $285/hour + HST + Disbursements
- One-hour initial consultation is $285.00 + HST + Disbursements

- Seniors: $370.00 + HST each;
- Non-Seniors: $400.00 + HST each;

- Seniors: $105.00 + HST each;

- Seniors: $105.00 + HST each;

***NOTE: A $100.00 per person deposit is required when taking instructions for Wills and Powers of Attorney.

- Title Insurance ranges from $490.00 to $850.00 + HST + Disbursements (see bottom for extra information)
- $850.00 + HST for Incorporations
- $800.00 + HST + Disbursements for Refinances and Additional Mortgages
- $750.00 + HST + Disbursements for Selling a House:
- Remortgaging a House you already own:
- $500.00 + HST + Disbursements for placement of a financial institutional mortgage
- $550.00 + HST + Disbursements for Private Mortgages
- If a transfer of title is involved (adding or removing a spouse or parent) additional $380.00 + HST + Disbursements fee applies.
- $450.00 + HST for New-build Construction Agreement Reviews
- $390.00 + HST for Commercial Lease Reviews

Extra Information:
- Disbursements are out of pocket expenses for searches, registrations, courier charges, certified cheque/wire/EFT charges office supplies, etc.
- Title Insurance fees depend on (not limited to):
- Location
- Choice of Mortgage Company
- First-Time Homebuyers may deduct some fees if:
- Never having previously owned a house anywhere at any time
- Never Married to anyone who owned a house whilst married to you.
- May be eligible for up to $4000.00 refund on land tax otherwise payable.
- If taking title with someone who is not a first-time buyer than eligible to a percentage of the refund in accordance with the percentage you own (e.g., joint tenants with only one first time homebuyer than 50% eligible, but if buying a 99% ownership with a prior homeowning parent with 1% ownership, then eligible for up to 99% of the credit).
- Other Purchase Related Costs to Know:
- Home Inspection Report (Approx. $350.00 to $650.00)
- Adjustment Costs (i.e., fueling propane tanks and paying municipal taxes)
- Appraisals (Approx. $350.00 to $850.00)
- CMHC/Genworth Mortgages have premiums and there is PST on them.
- Utilities (i.e., hookup charges)
- Land Transfer Tax
